The Heartland Municipal Lineworkers Training Conference is a premier hands-on training event created specifically for public power lineworkers. Designed by municipal utilities for municipal utilities, this three-day conference provides practical field training that helps participants strengthen skills, improve safety, and build confidence on the job.
Unlike traditional classroom conferences, conference participants spend most of their time in the field, working alongside experienced instructors using real utility equipment in realistic training scenarios.

Line Construction Track
Designed for experienced lineworkers looking to expand their technical knowledge and field applications. Training includes:
- Wire stringing, sagging and tie ins
- Spacer cable installation
- Advanced transformer applications and troubleshooting

About the Heartland Public Power Training Site
The conference is held at the Heartland Public Power Training Site in Grand Island, Neb., a dedicated outdoor training facility developed through a partnership between municipal electric utilities across the Midwest.
The site provides a realistic field environment where participants can safely practice construction techniques, equipment operation, and troubleshooting using actual utility infrastructure.
