Electric Journey Line Worker (Alliance, Neb.)

Salary Range: $32.82 – $42.13 per hour DOQ/Experience and up to $500 +Relocation Reimbursement
DOL Certified Journeyman Starts at $39.54/hour.  
The City will also consider applications for Apprentice* with a starting hourly pay range of $24.44.

The Position
This individual will perform skilled line work in the operation, construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems; operates a variety of specialized related equipment and vehicles; involves exposure to high voltage energized lines; responsible for safely completing assignments with assigned crew in a timely manner. Duties include installation, operation and maintenance of electrical power lines and systems and performing installation, programming, testing and maintenance of AMI meters.

Location and Hours 
Employees of our Municipal Electric Department are scheduled 8-5 Monday through Friday as well as a rotating on-call schedule every 4 weeks. Limited to no travel required; On-call personnel have the use of City vehicle and must be able to respond to calls within 20 minutes to perform duties during emergencies, outages and disasters.

Designation & Benefits
This position is non-exempt and full-time. Need to Have:
1.    Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent
2.    Completion of all requirements of the City’s Apprentice Journey Line Worker Program or equivalent
3.     *Apprentice candidates should submit copy of Associate Degree or Diploma in Powerline Construction & Maintenance Technology when applying
4.    DOL Certified Journeyman should submit a copy of their certification along with the application

Special Requirements
Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver’s License and CDL or able to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire; Possess first class line workers license or certification. Position subject to FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing.
