The City of Fairbury, Neb. is seeking qualified candidates for the position of city administrator. Fairbury (pop. just under 4,000) is a 2nd class city with a mayor-council form of government with an annual budget more than $30 million. The city is a full-service city, offering water, wastewater, sanitation, and electric, as well as library, museum, street, and park departments. Law enforcement is provided by the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department and fire is provided by the RFD. The city seeks candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field, master’s degree preferred. Work experience may be substituted for education. The successful candidate must be able to competently create and manage budgets, oversee and develop personnel.
