The City of Sidney, Neb., seeks a motivated, knowledgeable and personable individual to serve as the chief building official. Duties include city planning, administering and enforcing building codes, regulations and ordinances for both residential and commercial construction; on-site inspections, maintaining accurate records, budgeting experience. Must possess excellent communication and team oriented qualities. Two years of post secondary college or technical instruction in building technology or construction mgmt. and four years experience in general construction and related fields or equiv. combination of education and experience. ICBO Certificate or ability to obtain and Certified Electrical Inspector license desirable. Attendance at evening City Council, Planning Commission, or other related meetings required. Must possess or be able to obtain a Nebraska driver’s license and have a driving record that meets the City’s insurance carrier standards.
