ACE to participate in Choice Gas selection period April 10-23
March 22, 2020
Community-owned and not-for-profit ACE, the Public Alliance for Community Energy, will again participate as a natural gas supplier in the Nebraska Choice Gas selection period, which begins April 10 and runs through April 23.
The Choice Gas program allows customers on the Black Hills Energy distribution system to choose their natural gas supplier for the gas year, which runs June 1-May 31. As the only not-for-profit, community-owned supplier in the program, ACE encourages consumers to actively choose their natural gas supplier during the selection period.
ACE has participated in the Choice Gas program every year since its start in the late 1990s. ACE has returned nearly $2.8 million to its 75 member communities for the betterment of each community, including $400,000 distributed this year.
The Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC), the state regulator of the Choice Gas program, is seeking customer feedback regarding the Choice Gas program by encouraging customers to participate in an online survey, which can be accessed on ACE’s website (ACEenergy.org). The PSC will also hold a workshop in June to evaluate and gather additional feedback about the program for possible future changes.
ACE encourages customers to be informed and actively choose a supplier. There is a wide variety of pricing options from participating suppliers and ACE encourages customers to make sure of the pricing they are receiving, especially whether it’s subject to change for the term of their selection.
Customers can choose ACE online at ACEenergy.org or by calling (800) 454-4759. Answers to common questions and explanations of pricing options are also on the website. Residents are encouraged to sign up to follow ACE on Facebook and Twitter to receive the latest information regarding natural gas prices and information.
