NPGA elects officers for 2010-11

The National Public Gas Agency (NPGA), the wholesale natural gas entity of NMPP Energy, elected officers for its board of directors and management committee for fiscal year 2010-11 at its annual meeting February 18 in Lincoln, Neb.

Those elected to one-year terms as officers of the board of directors beginning April 1 were:

  • Chris Anderson, city administrator, Central City, Neb., chair;
  • Bob Lockmon, utility superintendent, Stuart, Neb., vice chair.
  • Randy Woldt, utilities superintendent, Wisner, Neb., secretary/treasurer;
     

As chair and vice chair, Anderson and Lockmon will also serve on the NMPP Energy Joint Operating Committee, which includes members from the four NMPP Energy organizations.
The NPGA Management Committee also elected three officers. The officers elected were:

  • Larry Brittenham, utilities manager, Superior, Neb., chair;
  • Ron Daberkow, utilities superintendent, Lyons, Neb., vice chair;
  • Russ Pfeil, city/utility superintendent, Alma, Neb., secretary.
     

As chair, Brittenham will also serve on the NMPP Energy Joint Operating Committee. The board and management committee are responsible for developing operational strategies and guiding the agency to secure reliable and low-cost natural gas for their member communities.

Formed in 1991, NPGA is a nonprofit organization comprised of 13 member communities in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska that combine their efforts to acquire wholesale natural gas. NPGA supplies natural gas to approximately 30 communities in seven states.
