MEAN elects board officers for 2010-11
The Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN), the wholesale power supply entity of NMPP Energy, elected officers for its board of directors for fiscal year 2010-11 at its annual meeting Jan. 21 in North Platte, Neb.
Those elected to one-year terms as officers of the MEAN board of directors beginning April 1 were:
- Rod Fries, electric distribution superintendent, Sidney, Neb., chair
- Ty Abernethy, city administrator, Mitchell, Neb., vice chair
- Tom Ourada, director of public works, Crete, Neb., secretary/treasurer
The board acts as the final authority on rates and charges to MEAN long-term, total requirements participants. Formed in 1981, MEAN serves wholesale electric supply and provides energy-related services to 65 communities in Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and Iowa and one power authority.
