The Public Alliance for Community Energy (ACE) elected Board of Director officers and Executive Committee members for fiscal year 2010-11 at its annual meeting Jan. 20 in North Platte, Neb.
ACE is the not-for-profit retail natural gas supplier of NMPP Energy. It has been a natural gas supplier in the Choice Gas Program in Nebraska since 1998. As the only community-owned supplier in the Choice Gas Program, ACE supplies natural gas to nearly 28,000 accounts and includes 71 communities and one public power district in Nebraska in its membership.
Those elected to one-year terms as Board of Director officers beginning April 1 were:
- Paul Markowski, superintendent of utilities, Ord, Neb., chair;
- John Hehnke, public services director, Sidney, Neb., vice chair;
- Bruce Clymer, city administrator, Gothenburg, Neb., secretary/treasurer.
All three previously served as officers in 2009-10. As officers they will also serve on the ACE Executive Committee along with four elected committee members:
- Chris Rector, city administrator, Gibbon, Neb.;
- Harold Farrar, city administrator, Kimball, Neb.;
- Ty Abernethy, city administrator, Mitchell, Neb.
- Albert Wood, utility superintendent, Red Cloud, Neb.;
Farrar, Abernethy and Wood all served on the executive committee last year.
