ACE, the Public Alliance for Community Energy, is now reaching out to communicate to Choice Gas customers through social media Web sites Facebook and Twitter.
The only community-owned and not-for-profit natural gas supplier in the Choice Gas program began participating on the social media sites in the fall and has more than 170 followers so far.
“As social media has become popular the last few years, we see it as another avenue for ACE to reach customers,” said Beth Ackland, ACE retail gas services coordinator. “We have to reach people where they are – and that includes online through social media sites. ACE has always been an advocate for all natural gas users in the Choice Gas program and this is another way for us to serve customers.”
ACE encourages Choice Gas customers to sign up to receive regular updates as it continues to build an online community of Nebraska residents that includes discussion and information. ACE will share success stories from its 71 Nebraska member communities as well as useful resources such as weatherization and efficiency tips, information on national and regional natural gas issues and information pertaining to the Choice Gas program, including the upcoming two-week selection period in April.
